RV & Boat Storage

Covered RV and boat storage spaces at a secure outdoor storage facility.

Most driveways weren't designed with a 30-foot RV in mind. And if you live in a Texas HOA community, the conversation usually ends before it starts. A lot of neighborhoods don't allow recreational vehicles on the property at all, regardless of where you try to park them.

Yellow Door Storage has outdoor and covered canopy spaces for RVs, boats, and oversized vehicles at our Texas locations. Secure, accessible, and available on a month-to-month basis.

What is RV and Boat Storage?

It's a dedicated parking space, uncovered outdoor or covered canopy, rented monthly for recreational and oversized vehicles that don't have a practical place to sit at home between uses.

The spaces are built to fit larger vehicles that wouldn't work in a standard storage unit or a residential garage.

Types of Spaces

Uncovered Outdoor Spaces

Uncovered outdoor spaces handle most boats on trailers, standard utility trailers, and vehicles that don't need overhead protection.

Covered Canopy Spaces

Covered canopy spaces put a roof over the vehicle, which matters more than people expect in a Texas summer. Direct sun does real damage to RV roofs, boat covers, and exterior surfaces over months.

The covered option isn't just about rain.

Who Stores Their RV or Boat Here?

Seasonal Owners

Seasonal owners are the biggest group. An RV or boat that gets serious use from spring through early fall needs somewhere to go for the other half of the year.

A storage space keeps it secure and out of the way without leaving it exposed through a Texas summer sitting in a driveway.

HOA Residents

HOA residents come in right behind them. Texas neighborhoods that prohibit RVs and boats on residential property are common.

Storage is the straightforward solution that doesn't involve selling the vehicle or fighting with the board.

Trailer Owners

Families with horse trailers, car haulers, fifth wheels, and oversized utility trailers also use it regularly.

These things are too big for a residential lot and too valuable to leave somewhere without any security.

Part-Time Residents

People who split time between states use it too. If you're away for months at a time you want the vehicle somewhere with controlled access and cameras, not sitting unattended.

What to Do Before You Drop It Off

How you prep the vehicle makes a real difference in what you find when you come back.

For an RV

Drain every water line and tank completely before storage. A single line with water left in it can cause serious damage.

Clean and defrost the refrigerator, and cover any roof vents so insects and debris don't get in while it sits.

For a Boat

Flush the engine and water systems fully, pull out any electronics or valuables, and check carefully for standing water before closing it up.

Use a fitted cover rather than a tarp. A loose tarp moves around in wind and causes scratches over months.

For Any Vehicle Sitting More Than a Month

Inflate the tires above normal PSI since they'll lose pressure over time, and either disconnect the battery completely or hook up a trickle charger so you're not dealing with a dead battery when you come back.
